Agreement On The Conservation Of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds Upsc

Classification of species: Under this Convention, migratory species threatened with extinction are listed in Appendix I and the Parties shall endeavour to protect these animals strictly, to preserve or restore the places where they live, to remove obstacles to migration and to control other factors that may endanger them. Migratory species that require international cooperation or would make significant use of it are listed in Annex II to the Convention. NAFTA is the initialism of the North American Free Trade Agreement, an agreement signed by Canada, Mexico and the United States that reduced or eliminated trade barriers in North America. (Since the U.S. and Canada already had a free trade agreement (signed in 1988), NAFTA only brought Mexico into the trading bloc.) In order to protect migratory species in all countries of distribution, a Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species (CMS) has entered into force under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Programme. . . .
