It’s been a while since we shared any photos from our University of Washington Huskies coverage. As the official photography studio for the Huskies athletics department, we cover multiple sporting events each week. This week presented a fun match-up of Seattle teams, as the UW visited Key Arena to take on the Seattle University Redhawks on their home court. The Huskies handled the Redhawks easily, winning the game 95-74. Check out the game story at gohuskies.com. | Andy

For the second consecutive year, Red Box Pictures photographed the Sports Star of the Year for the Seattle Sports Commission. Originally created by Royal Brougham and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in 1936, this event has celebrated the achievements of nearly 100 local athletes, coaches and others in the sports industry. Since the P-I’s closure, the SSC has taken the annual event to new highs. The over 1,000 people packed into Benaroya Hall on January 26, 2011 saw stars such as Felix Hernandez, Apolo Ohno, Don James, Gary Payton, Hope Solo, Keith Jackson, Governor Chris Gregoire present and receive awards. Of course there were many more stars in attendance. Check them out in our complete gallery of photos from the banquet.
