Red Box Pictures Named UW Athletics Official Photographers

Three big events have happened recently at the University of Washington. President Barack Obama paid a visit to Husky Nation, the UW football team won a thrilling double-overtime game against Oregon State and the University of Washington Athletic Department hired Red Box Pictures to be their official photographer for the 2010-11 school year! We will be will be shooting everything from baseball and crew to track & field and volleyball…19 different men’s and women’s teams in all. We will also be creating UW team portraits and documenting various events within the athletic department. We are really excited by this partnership, so please keep an eye on our blog for lots of UW sports! This is our first post from the UW which seems like an appropriate place to start since it was such a exciting game. Jake Locker threw for a school record tying five touchdowns, with Jermaine Kearse catching four touchdowns establishing a new record for the University of Washington. The defense was stout when it had to be, with a bend and don’t break mentality. The first picture is of the players on synthetic turf during the play of the game, as Oregon State tight end Joe Halahuni couldn’t hold onto the ball while being covered by Cort Dennison. Oregon State’s two-point conversion in the second overtime failed and the Huskies were victorious. BOW DOWN TO WASHINGTON!!!  |  Scott Eklund
