I recently spent the afternoon hanging out with Team USA Moguls skier Patrick Deneen, a Cle Elum native who won the Moguls World Championship this year and hopes to compete in the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, B.C. Shooting for USA Today and working alongside longtime veteran Olympics writer Meri-Jo Borzilleri (a former colleague when I was at The (Colorado Springs) Gazette), I got to watch him as he practiced his aerial maneuvers on a trampoline next to his home. Deneen, who lives on a hay and horse ranch with his parents, was really fun, cooperative and patient as I set about making portraits that incorporated some of the animals. Check out Meri-Jo’s story on Patrick Deneen, enjoy the pictures, and wish him luck in Vancouver. –Andy
