I had the pleasure of photographing Karen and Chris’s wedding recently. They met on a blind date three years ago when Chris was stationed at Ft. Lewis. Chris, a West Point graduate, is a captain in the 2-1 Infantry, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team. I have great admiration for Chris, who has deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and all those who put themselves in harm’s way to protect our freedom. It was a challenging day, weather wise, but we were able to dodge the rain to get a few outside shots. As daylight started to fade, a rainbow made for a beautiful backdrop to the reception at the Landmark Convention Center in Tacoma. It was a real honor for me to be able to document Chris and Karen’s special day. -Scott Eklund
