I recently had the honor of photographing Amy and Todd’s wedding in Seattle. They are a fantastic couple who made it really easy for me – they picked a beautiful venue, threw a terrific reception, and were completely comfortable in front of the camera (and with each other).
We started with the sweet moment of Todd getting his first look of Amy and her beautiful dress when they met in the botanical gardens at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Ballard. After having some fun taking portraits around the gardens we headed to the beach–the Golden Gardens Bathhouse to be exact–for the wedding and the reception. The old brick building was awash in sunshine for the mid-afternoon ceremony, appropriate conditions for what was a warm and charming ceremony.
From their things got even better as Amy and Todd enjoyed some time alone strolling on the beach before the party started. The reception was a kick with lots of laughs, dancing and great toasts that ranged from touching to hilarious. An absolutely gorgeous sunset was the exclamation point of what was wedding to remember. –Dan DeLong
