Seattle Lacrosse | Buckley’s LC

I’ve been playing lacrosse since I was a 14-year-old growing up in Maryland, where “The Fastest Game on Two Feet” is the unofficial state sport (you’ll never guess what the OFFICIAL state sport is). I played a bit in high school and at the University of Texas, but have had some of my most memorable experiences playing for the Buckley’s Lacrosse Club, a club-level men’s team affiliated with the Pacific Northwest Lacrosse Association. My addiction to the dexterity, aggressiveness and endurance found in the game continues, but nowadays my busy schedule as a Seattle wedding photographer and father to two little boys has made it impossible to commit to a team through a full season. Fortunately, I had a chance recently to spend time with my old team when they asked me to come out and photograph one of their games to use on a new web site. I had a great time, and I hope you like the pictures. Also, if you’ve never seen a lacrosse game before, check one out soon. There are more opportunities than ever before, with a new indoor professional team, the Washinton Stealth, playing at Comcast Arena and teams being added at every level of play. Lastly, if you haven’t had a burger and a beer at Buckley’s pub in Lower Queen Anne (just a short walk from Red Box Pictures HQ), you’re missing out, so go! –Andy
