Dan and I had the honor of capturing the wedding of our friend and fellow former-newspaper photojournalist, Niki Desautels as she married her amazing husband Shawn. We began in West Seattle, where the bride and groom got ready with their close friends at different homes. Next, we moved to Georgetown, where the couple had their first look at Jules Maes Saloon. We proceed to the back side of the old Rainier Brewery, which provided a dilapidated contrast to the wedding party’s sharp black outfits and Niki’s beautiful wedding dress from Wai-Ching. The ceremony was held at the fabulously cool Georgetown Ballroom, where the couple’s good friend (and Seattle Times multimedia guru) Danny Gawlowski officiated with humor and tenderness. The reception followed at the Ballroom as guests were treated to a unique dinner featuring paella from Azafron Catering, ice cream from Ice Cream Renaissance, and a late night hot-dog snack from Dante’s Inferno Dogs. Dawnet Davis of A Piece of Cake Events saw to it that everything went smoothly for all. Dan and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Niki, Shawn, their friends and families. We wish them all the best going forward in their life together! — Andy
These photographs so elegantly dipict the sequence of events of one of the most special and memorable days of Shawn and Niki’s life thus far. Congratulations.
Wow! These are the most awesome photos, I’ve ever seen; capturing the beginning moments of an absolutely fabulous life together, between two wonderfully incredible individuals, giving themselves, unconditionally to each other.
Thank you, so much, for sharing. Congratulations, to the Newly Weds!
