Seattle Scottish Rite Masonic Center Open House
The Seattle Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Shoreline was introduced recently as a venue for weddings with an open house hosted by Lynn Havens of Intimate Affair Catering and Event Planning. Red Box Pictures was the featured photographer for the terrific event, and were joined by many of Seattle’s finest caterers and wedding vendors. There […]
Bacon Mansion Wedding | Victoria + Jeffrey
I had the pleasure recently of spending the day with Victoria & Jeffrey as they were married at the Bacon Mansion on Capitol Hill in Seattle. It was a really fun and interesting group, and the venue was terrific. It was the first time I have photographed at the Bacon Mansion, I hope to do […]
Coming: Sports Star of the Year Awards
The Seattle Sports Commission has hired Red Box Pictures to be the official photographers of the 75th Annual Sports Star of the Year Banquet at Beneroya Hall on January 19, 2010! One of the annual events this time of year, when we were photographers at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, was the P-I Sports Star of the […]
Chris & Karen: An Officer & His Bride
I had the pleasure of photographing Karen and Chris’s wedding recently. They met on a blind date three years ago when Chris was stationed at Ft. Lewis. Chris, a West Point graduate, is a captain in the 2-1 Infantry, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team. I have great admiration for Chris, who has deployed twice in […]
Silvia & Adrian at the Market!
Had the pleasure of photographing Silvia and Adrian for a recent engagement session. They wanted to go to the Pike Place Market around dusk and try and catch some good light. We were lucky to catch some beautiful light, and also a great couple. They were a lot of fun, and were up to try anything. Their […]
Matt & Michelle in The Attic!
I have to say that we have been very fortunate with the couples we have photographed this summer. Andy Rogers and I photographed Matt & Michelle’s wedding at The Attic in Sumner. Sumner holds a special place for me, since it is the town where I grew up. I added more good memories from my hometown having […]
UW’s Daniel Te’o-Nesheim
With the start of the football season upon us, I thought I would post a recent assignment for Sports Northwest Magazine. We were hired by a former co-worker from our days at the Seattle P-I, Todd Dybas, who is now the editor at the magazine. He wanted a cover shot of University of Washington football […]
Tips for Taking Exercise Slowly
Popular culture would have us believe that if we’re not logging hundreds of miles running marathons, grinding out a daily online cycling class or hitting the gym before dawn like pro bodybuilders that we’re not working out hard enough. Or long enough. Or far enough. That, friends, is folly. Read more about link text. Truth: […]

Hanging Out With Drew Carey
I had a fun assignment recently for the Los Angeles Times, hanging out with one of the Seattle Sounders’ owners, actor/comedian/game-show host Drew Carey. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Carey was a great guy and very down-to-earth. I anticipated a real high-energy Chris Farley-like personality, but he was nothing like that. He was very […]
STYX & REO SPEEDWAGON
It was a flash back to my youth with the arena rock show that I photographed recently at the ShoWare Center in Kent, as Styx, REO Speedwagon and .38 Special made their way to the Northwest. The heyday of these bands has definitely passed, but the enthusastic fans didn’t seem to mind. Not all of […]
Blue Skies & Red Box
The staff at Red Box Pictures had a request for a group photo for an upcoming article in News Photographer magazine. So we decided to get out of the studio and head to one of the most beautiful spots in the city; Alki Point. It was one of those days, and evenings, that make all the rainy Seattle days worthwhile. I can hear the song playing now…..the bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle.
